THE WHISTLER
In the heart of the Boyne Valley, the Cooney family continues a long tradition of excellence. For their The Whistler whiskeys, the raw materials used are 100% natural and 100% Irish, and the water is drawn from the family spring. Distillation is carried out in hand-crafted copper stills and the family’s 2,000 casks provide an infinite variety of ageing options.
DOUBLE OAKED
This whiskey is a blend of single malt whiskeys (20%) and grain (80%), aged in Bourbon casks and then finished for 6 months in Oloroso sherry casks under the watchful eye of The Whistler’s Cellar Master.
Bouquet
This Whiskey offers up a nose of salted butterscotch and vanilla, with notes of spicy citrus and honey, combined with subtle walnut overtones.
Palate
On entry to on the palate, the whiskey reveals aromas of creamy honey and vanilla, which gradually subside and are followed by peppery and oaky citrus notes, which are in perfect harmony with this whiskey’s unctuous and caramelised nose.
The finish is long with notes of dry oak tannins, and a slight honeyed sweetness
