Description
DISTILLERY
The story of Demerara Distillers began in 1670 when each sugar plantation had its own rum and a group of sugar cane growers formed an export cooperative. After years of consolidation and mergers, today only one distillery remains in Diamond on the eastern bank of the Demerara. The distillery produces a very concentrated “High Ester” rum in a small pot still specially designed for this purpose.
THE REFINING OF OUR CELLAR MASTER
This rum from Guyana has been refined for several months in the cellars of Château du Breuil. Its journey in Oloroso Sherry casks harmonizes the notes and becomes more silky, with a nice roundness and natural sweetness.
Bouquet
Very powerful aromatic profile marked by esters and notes of banana. Mineral and olive flavors come later.
Color
Mahogany brown
Palate
Powerful flavors of yellow banana complexified by notes of red fruits, caramel and vanilla. The finish expresses itself roundly on candied fruits and oxidative notes.
