Description
THE ESTATE
Oscar Quevedo founded Portos Quevedo in San Joao da Pesqueira in the heart of the Douro Valley. The Port House is the creation of several generations who shared the same passion for the production of Port wines. The Quevedos are constantly on the lookout for new and even better terroirs to expand their vineyards, which now cover over 100 hectares. They bring us this fine range of Ports dubbed “The One”.
LATE BOTTLED VINTAGE PORT 2011
This Port is a blend of 30% Touriga Nacional, 25% Touriga Franca, 15% Tinta Roriz, 5% Tinto Cao, 5% Tinta Barroca and 20% other varieties. After the grapes have been completely destemmed, the fermentation is slow, with the temperature controlled up to 27°C. This Port can be enjoyed now, but can also be cellar-aged for many years to come, when its ruby colour will lighten to a more pomegranate-like shade.
Drinking recommend-ations
This Port is perfect with braised plums, quince jelly with cheese, steak tartare or mild goat cheese.
Palate
On the palate, we find concentrated black fruit and spice. The Port is nicely balanced by well-structured tannins, which carry through into a long finish.
Bouquet
This Port reveals a nose of young, vibrant aromas, reminiscent of raspberries and plums with a touch of spice that lends complexity.
