Description
THE ESTATE
Domaine de la Pouyade’s 25 hectares of vineyards are located in Juillac-le-Coq in the heart of the “Grande Champagne” region, also known as the “golden triangle”. The sunny exposure of the vineyards on the upper slopes is ideal for the production of wine destined for distillation. Ugni Blanc is the Domaine’s main grape variety and provides all the qualities necessary for distillation as its wine is fine and delicate and possesses a high acidity, low tannin and an alcohol content of between 9% and 11%. It is distilled on the lees in the traditional Charentaise double-distillation still.
FAMILY RESERVE
Originating from very old Ugni Blanc vines on the high-lying limestone slopes, this old Pineau Blanc has been aged for many years in old cognac barrels.
Drinking recommend-ations
When served in a tulip-shaped glass, this Cognac will be able to breathe and concentrate all its delicate aromas. It pairs perfectly with a good cigar.
Palate
Full-bodied, with a generous touch of roasted chocolate, liquorice and caramel. The never-ending finish is gently rounded out by Christmas spices and honey.
