Description
Réserve des seigneurs (Lords Reserve) Calvados, AOC Pays d’Auge, is a 20 to 25 year old spirit at 41% alcohol. It’s been selected amongst the most noble and oldest Calvados in the Château du Breuil cellars.
With its mahogany color and its strong tannins, it provides the pleasure of its fleshy roundness and aromas. An “ageless” Calvados, distinguised, gracious and supple. Notes of spices, roasting, dried tobacco and a great length in palate.
Pour les connaisseurs et amateurs de très vieux alcools racés. A déguster entre intimes ou connaisseurs, il fera merveille après un bon repas, ou devant un feu de cheminée.
Tasting guide
Served as an after-dinner drink, with a coffee and paired with a sweet treat…
Delicious and surprising with a strong cheese (like Livarot). Delicious with a square of dark chocolate (65% Caribbean cocoa from Valrhona, for example), or with a chocolate truffle, or even a dried apricot.
Palate
Frank and explosive attack on notes of leather, ripe quince and prune, to go towards a spicy and slightly peppery finish, then a length of tobacco and licorice.
Color
Dark mahogany
Bouquet
Intense, powerful and complex with notes of leather and cured tobacco. Then it opens with aromas of roasting and bitter cocoa.
