Description
In the heart of the Boyne Valley, the Cooney family continues a long tradition of excellence. For their The Whistler whiskeys, the raw materials used are 100% natural and 100% Irish, and the water is drawn from the family spring. Distillation is carried out in hand-crafted copper stills and the family’s 2,000 casks provide an infinite variety of ageing options.
P.X. I LOVE YOU
First aged in Bourbon casks, this 100% malted barley whiskey was then matured in old Pedro Ximénez Sherry (“PX”) casks for several months. It is a fine example of the influence of these casks on an excellent Irish single malt whiskey.
Palate
The whiskey is rather lively and oaky on entry to the palate. Then the dried fruit and brown sugar aromas detected on the nose are joined by walnut, citrus and light notes of leather.
Bouquet
On the nose, delicious cherry notes are combined with aromas of dried berries and currants, followed by candied orange and brown sugar. Not chill-filtered. Natural colour.
